I still can describe to you my fairytale emotions that I had about fostering and adoption. We were going to rescue abused children, provide them a home, love on them, adopt them and then go on with our normal American lives! I could quote all the Bible verses on delivering the fatherless, recite happy adoption stories, and believed our own story of adoption would be just around the corner. But, two and half years later in our fostering journey, we would continue to struggle to obtain the foster children’s permanent placement which seemed like an unending battle. “The goal remains the same,” the judge.
